When Kyle crawled in with me this morning, it startled me.  I looked at the clock: 7:10.  I don’t remember hearing DH get ready for work this morning - or kiss me good-bye.  I thought he overslept.  I got out of bed and started searching the house for him only to discover he was gone.  I must have slept that soundly that I didn’t hear a thing.

I got Kyle breakfast and put on a show for him.  The phone rang - Amanda wouldn’t be here until 10:00 (instead of 8:00 a.m.).  I was headed back to bed when Erika came up.  I got her breakfast and went back to bed.  I dozed for a few minutes and figured I might as well get up.  I showered and got the kids ready for the day.

I was on the phone and computer at 9:55 a.m. trying to get through for Eagles tickets for my brother.  No luck.

Amanda arrived at 10 and Kyle was really good about going down to therapy today.  I could hear them working on goals and it sounded like he was doing really well.  He came up with a “chicken robot” that they made from construction paper.  The idea came from his National Geographic Jr. magazine - in the craft section.  It was 3 dimentional and actually pretty good.  He was very proud of it.  He went back down and worked awhile and then came up for lunch.

I got a phone call from my friend, Sally, that one of our other friends, Ronda, committed suicide yesterday.  I am just sick.

He and Amanda and Erika made chocolate chip muffins - just for something fun to do.  That still incorporates reading, directions, measuring, etc., so that was a fun goal.  He went back downstairs and finished his goals with Amanda about 2.  After having a muffin, we got ready and went to the library.  We had to turn in all of our Amelia Bedelia books and get something new.  The kids picked out books, computer games and a Bob the Builder Christmas movie.

We went to the park for about 45 minutes and decided to call it a day.  It was hot out and there weren’t any other kids around to play with.  We decided to come back on Thursday.  There will probably be campers coming in for the weekend and we might find some kids to interact with.

The kids were anxious to watch the new Bob the Builder movie so they did that first.  After that they played computer games and I made supper.

DH had to go straight from work for a Lions’ Club meeting tonight.  I hate when his late work days and Lions’ meetings fall like that.  The kids don’t even get to see him.

The kids watched 2 Word World shows and it was time for bed.  I took them down and read a new book from the library.

I can’t help thinking about Ronda…and her 12 year old son….
